When I was in my early teens, I would listen every week to Casey Casem's American Top 40.  I would write and keep track of the charts, and record the songs on my recorder off the radio.  I dreamed of being on the radio.  Back then, it was nearly impossible to think about a female on the air.

 

I made that dream come true.  My major was Journalism.  One of my professors wanted me to do the news on the radio station as an intern.  A year later, a Program Director wanted me to be an on-air personality.  What I believed to be a short stint doing just that, it turned out to be a 30 year career.  I especially loved producing the commercials.  I then became a Production Director, overseeing the commercials and imaging of the station.

 

Some called me a trailblazer for women in radio.  Recently, my demo producer said I sound like I work at Entertainment Tonight.
